I believe!

oh, my Jesus sandals. Where to begin?
From the start of course! The first moment I slipped the ropes over my toes, life felt adventurous.
That was the moment when I knew my passion; I had to be on my feet wandering the world.
An Arizona oasis, Wyoming's mountains, Hawaiian Volcanoes, Utah's Red Rock, California beaches, Mexican jungles....
Nothing can hold me and my sandals back, we are out to see Earth together, one step at a time.
Next stop, the Oregon coast!

oh the places you'll go...

Sometimes I'm surprised by my surroundings.
I never really imagined that the landscape around me could be any different than what I grew up with. Scotland is beautiful and I've seen glimpses of it as I've been here in Washington or traveled in Oregon. Idaho is nothing like any place I'd ever been before though and on the opposite end of that is Arizona - two extremes way beyond my mental capacity to imagine without experiencing it for myself first.

In Scotland the landscape is spotted with ruins of ancient buildings - castles, crofts, homes. There's a real sense of history there. The heather covered hills. The only place I've been so far that I feel that same historic spirit is Utah. Those mountains. Breathtaking. A different kind of history.

A couple of evenings ago I was standing out on the deck watching the sun go down and I heard a familiar sound. Geese. It felt like home but at the same time it was so foreign. Geese fly over Scotland in Autumn and Winter. They migrate to Canada. I've never heard geese in summertime before. It made me long for home but it also helped me accept that this is home now too.

I love this adventure.

Shiny, foot-happy people...

My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to have a Holiday in Hawaii last year! We are from Australia so it was a bit of a trek but so worth it! I had an obsession with taking pics of my self-done pedicure while on holidays and everyone commented that I had about a million pics of my feet in Hawaii! But now I know I am not alone and there are other foot-happy people out there!

Roadtrippin' with my favourite ally

There's really not much I enjoy more than being trapped in a car with my lovie and forcing myself to stay awake to keep him company on a long drive. I really love it. I love singing so loud that I end up with a sore throat. I love that we both think we're guitars and will sing guitar parts just as much as we sing the actual lyrics. I love that I can show my love for him by not sleeping at all even though my head is bobbing up and down and my eyelids weigh a ton. I will not sleep. It's up to me to make sure he's ok. I don't have a drivers license but if they did licenses for most awesome passenger I'd totally get one in one try. Right, Stuee?

What's your favourite roadtrip experiences? Do you have any traditions? Any fun travel games?

Up. Down.

I know that it's April Fool's Day and I just thought that I should have done something crazy like paint my feet green and tell you I was actually a martian or something.

But I wasn't that smart.

Instead I took this shot today on my way home from work.

The escalator brings me from the lower ground train station to the ground level and essentially to work.

The escalator also brings me back down under ground to the lower train station so that I can, in fact, go home.

I could always take the real stairs. But at 8:40am and 6:12pm I don't feel much like climbing stairs.

So here's to the escalator. How it makes our lives that little bit more pleasant.

Jesus.

One of my favourite things about visiting Salt Lake City is the random graffiti.

My second time coming to this city was when I was technically moving here temporarily. I knew no one and I was pitching up for seven weeks, on my own. I ended up living with an old German Nazi – in his attic. Because I was using public transport I met a lot of interesting characters, one of which said to me, 'Welcome to the only theocracy in the United States.'

This is an interesting city, with a lot of interesting foundations, opinions, precepts and development. Unsurprisingly the oxymoron of religious graffiti is prevalent.

I enjoy finding this stencil sprayed on the pavements in random locations. I think because there's no Christian denomination attached to it. It could have been a Baptist, a Catholic, a Protestant, a Presbyterian or, in fact, a Mormon, that did this, I enjoy the mystery.

Remember, trust Jesus.
